After a three year absence, SMBC
has offered to resume the once very popular joint club ride and lunch. They will be the host club this year and will provide the facility, routes and lunch menu. This location will be new to most CCBC members which is Summerfield Community Park, Lakewood Ranch. There will be several speed and distance options for all attendees. You will be asked to provide your speed group, lunch option and then payment of $12.00 to cover costs. Gluten free lunch is $2 extra. We are grateful to our sister club for pulling this together for our members.
SMBC is the host club and we’ve arranged to start and finish the rides LAKEWOOD RANCH TOWN HALL, 8175 LAKEWOOD RANCH BLVD, LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL 34202.
The rides will traverse the eastern edge of Lakewood Ranch generally from HWY 64 in the north to Fruitville. You’ll see relatively new development, planned residential expansion, and the new Waterside residential/commercial area. The latter has several new stores and restaurants.
All rides will be led by SMBC Ride Leaders with speed groups ranging from 10 to 20+ mph. Ride distances will vary between 30 and 40 miles depending on the speed group.
Following the rides, a box lunch and drinks will be served. If rain prevents riding, lunch still will be served at 11:30. Registration is required and will include name, selected speed group, and food preference.
Registration will close on March 5, so don’t delay!
