Arrive 15 minutes prior to ride start time. Join the Mashers for a fast pace ride for riders with skill and experience in road and pace line riding. Non CCBC members must sign a one time Waiver of Responsibility.
Slower ride speeds may be available based on Ride Leaders there.
Riders have various route/distance options from 30-45 miles.
Routes include Yellow Gate, Legacy Trail Extension, Myakka River Park, Honore, Mission Valley and Center Road areas.
This is a no drop ride with short water breaks.
Rest room facilities are very limited and may not be available on certain routes.
Either a Ride Starter or Ride Leader will organize the ride start. Prior to the start:
1. Rider Leaders should identify themselves and the ride speed and distance.
2. Riders should choose a Ride Leader and group based on their riding ability.
3. Ride Leader should have no more than 8-10 riders including a sweep. If the number of riders exceeds 10 then the group needs to be broken into two groups with one following at a significant distance. Need to maintain a safe gap for vehicles to pass between groups.
4. Ride Starter will make any general announcements and pertinent safety information.
5. Ride Starter will ask Ride Leaders to discuss with their group of riders the specific route, rest stops, water breaks, and safety issues. A Ride Sweep needs to be assigned except for a rotating pace line ride.
6. Ride Starter will start the ride with the fastest group sent out first followed by the next speed group.
